Results for Outwoods Edge 2017

Foundation Stage

Children in the Foundation Stage are observed throughout the year and then a final assessment is made in June and July. Children who have made good progress in all areas are judged to be working at a ‘Good Level of Development.’ The percentage of children at this stage is shown below in a table with the results for 2016 and a comparison with the national results.

Year 1 Phonics Assessment

At the end of Year 1 children’s phonics knowledge is assessed in test that is administered in all primary schools. The percentage of children who passed this assessment is shown below. There is also some comparative data showing the school’s score last year as well as the scores for Leicestershire and the national results.

Key Stage 1 SATs (Statutory Assessment Tests)

At the end of Year 2, children take a series of tests in reading, writing and mathematics. These tests, along with assessments of the children’s work in the classroom, help a teacher to decide if a child is working at the ‘expected level’ for the end of Year 2. Some children might be working at a higher level or a greater depth. The results for the school in 2017 are shown below

Key Stage 2 SATs

Children take national tests at the end of Year 6 in reading, mathematics and spelling grammar and punctuation. They are also assessed for their writing skills. Children can be working at the ‘expected level’ if they are performing in line with national expectations. If they score particularly well they might be judged as working at a ‘higher level’ or ‘greater depth.’ A child can also be judged as ‘working towards’ the expected level. The school’s results are shown below.
