As you know, Mr Maksymiw will be leaving Outwoods Edge at the end of this academic year and as governors we have been working hard to recruit his replacement.
We were fortunate to have some incredibly impressive candidates apply for the role, and we spent two days interviewing and testing the candidates to ensure we selected the right person for our school.
I am delighted to tell you, after this rigorous process, we have offered the position of Headteacher to Miss Amy Kitson.
Miss Kitson is currently a deputy head at a large junior school in the centre of Leicester, her passion for children and education shone through at the interview and we are really excited about how she will develop Outwoods Edge in the future.
I asked Miss Kitson to share some thoughts on her appointment:
‘I am so pleased to have been given this opportunity to introduce myself to you all. My name is Amy Kitson and I am delighted that I will be your new Headteacher from August 2019! I feel incredibly lucky to have been appointed at such a fantastic school and I am eager to meet and get to know you all in the coming months. I am very much looking forward to us working together to ensure that our children are happy, love their learning and reach their full potential’
I am sure you will all ensure Miss Kitson receives a warm welcome to our school when she starts at the beginning of the next academic year.
As governors, our next priority is to ensure a smooth transition and we will spend the next few weeks & months organising this with Miss Kitson and the senior leadership team.
As always, if there are any concerns or you need to speak to one of the governors please feel free to get in touch.
