Children in Year 4 and Year 6 came back from their residential trips on Friday. I know that both groups thoroughly enjoyed themselves and benefitted from some excellent weather. The trips to Wales and Derbyshire offer the children the chance to take part in a series of outdoor adventurous activities that have been planned and resourced by experts in the field. For instance, the Year 6 children built rafts and raced each other on a lake and the Year 4 children had the chance to use a canoe. Both groups also had extended treks in the countryside and enjoyed spectacular views.
I must say a big thank you to the staff from school who took the children away last week. Teachers and support staff gave up a lot of time to support the children and make sure they made the most of their time away. I’m sure they enjoyed it but nevertheless it involves a big commitment from them and their families. So thank you!
