Well done to all the children who took part in the annual Town Sports event. It was the last time I will be going to see our children and I was treated to some excellent performances in a number of different events. Jedd from Year 6 and Jirah from Year 5 each came second in the long jump and Kelsey also achieved a second place in the cricket throw. Lottie-Ann showed great determination and came third in the 800m. We had two children with first places in individual events; Mali in the hurdles and Sienna in the 75m sprint.
We had great success in the relays with the children working as a team to secure two third places (Year 6 boys and girls), two second places (Year 4 boys and girls) and a first place (Year 5 boys). I don’t think that we have ever done so well in this event.
I was very proud of all the children, whether they came away with a medal or not. I liked the way they cheered each other on and congratulated the winners as well as all the children that tried their very best. Well done! I also want to say big thank you to all the adults especially Miss Mason who gave up their Saturday afternoon to support the children.
