Design and Technology
Our Design and Technology curriculum is tailor made and enhances our cross curricula approach. Design and Technology (DT) at our school develops creativity, problem-solving, and practical skills through a range of focused areas of learning, including mechanisms, structures, textiles, and electrical systems. Each year group undertakes a food technology unit, enabling children to explore nutrition, cooking techniques, and healthy eating habits.
Our DT curriculum emphasizes the design cycle—researching, designing, making, and evaluating—with a focus on creating purposeful end products that showcase the skills and knowledge pupils have developed. Through hands-on projects, children build confidence and independence, preparing them to become innovative thinkers and makers.
Design Technology is taught half termly by Mrs Julie Lacey
