Following some recent movement, we have places available in some year groups. Please contact the school office for information.
Science
Science at our school is designed to spark curiosity, inspire awe and wonder, and develop a deep understanding of the world around us. We follow the Developing Experts programme, taught consistently from EYFS through to Year 6, which provides a clear, progressive pathway through scientific knowledge and enquiry skills. Lessons are engaging, well-sequenced, and enriched with real-world contexts, ensuring that science is both meaningful and memorable for our learners.
Our curriculum encourages children to think and work like scientists—asking questions, predicting outcomes, observing carefully, and drawing conclusions—while also building a solid foundation of scientific vocabulary and understanding. Practical investigation is at the heart of our approach, promoting hands-on learning and collaborative discovery.
Through carefully chosen topics, we make links across the wider curriculum and highlight the importance of science in everyday life, future careers, and global challenges. We aim to develop confident, inquisitive learners who are not only knowledgeable but also environmentally and socially aware. Science at our school is about investigating, exploring, and understanding—fuelling the next generation of thinkers, problem-solvers, and innovators.
Science lessons are delivered weekly from EYFS to Year 6. Year 2 syncronise 3 units of Science into their exciting Summer Term learning.
